1998 Topps Cubs Checklist

Basic Features

1998 Topps cards have a gold border with action-color player images featured on the card fronts and a nameplate at the bottom of the card that has foil with the player's name in large block letters while player bios and stats are printed on the backs. This set is just like the 1998 Stadium Club.

Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire competed for the home run championship in 1998. With a record of 89-73, the Cubs equaled the Giants for the wild card and won their one-game playoff at Wrigley Field. Any fan will remember this season fondly because it was exciting and had many memorable moments.

Minted in Cooperstown is the only parallel collection for 1998 Topps Baseball. On the front of each card, a bronze foil plaque was stamped on-site at the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
