On June 17, 2016, Willson Contreras was promoted to the Cubs' major league squad as a catcher. In 295 at-bats, he had 80 hits, 12 home runs, 35 RBIs, and a.275 batting average. He was signed as an international free agent in 2009 and worked his way up through the system. He was born in Venezuela.

On a scale of one to a hundred, I'd have to put him near the top of the list for hustle, team spirit, and attitude. Hopefully, Contreras will not be dumped like the rest of the old timers.
