Fleer made its debut with the Ultra set in 1991. Later in 2005, Upper Deck took over Fleer, ensuring the continuation of this tradition. In 2007, the Ultra series featured a single set (#1-250) with a distinctive silver Holofoil design around the player names and the Ultra logo. The first 200 cards highlighted seasoned players, while Ultra Rookies #201-237 and Lucky 13 #238-250 were limited edition prints.

Basic Features

Within this set, you will find a selection of players who were drafted in the 2008 MLB Draft, as well as other up-and-coming prospects. Just like all the Donruss-Playoff products during that period, it does not possess the official licenses from either MLB Properties or the MLBPA. Consequently, you won't find any active MLB players featured in this collection. Instead, the players are depicted wearing either airbrushed jerseys or college jerseys.

The back of the card features the player's name, 2008 statistics, and an intriguing blurb about the player. One fascinating aspect of Donruss is how some of these players went on to become great ballplayers, while others have been forgotten. All the autographs in this set are found in the last 100 cards.

Basic Features

The cards numbered 101–200 are a combination of veteran and 2007 rookie logo cards, whereas the first 100 cards are all veterans arranged alphabetically by first name. The retiring greats are shown on cards 201-223, and some of the biggest stars of today are included on short printed cards 224-240.

Unlike the popular set of the day, the backs contained no bios and only a brief synopsis of the player's career. The portrait on the front "stays true to the original Goudey brand," which has an upscale effect.

Basic Features

Topps Allen and Ginter, first introduced in 2006, soon became a fan favorite among the company's products. The cards featured a mix of current and former baseball players, famous historical figures, popular celebrities, and even some iconic landmarks. With a total of 300 base cards, 50 short prints, an autograph, and game-used inserts, each set offered a diverse collection for collectors to enjoy.

Rip Cards were an exclusive innovation introduced by Topps Allen and Ginter. Each card possesses the ability to be opened, unveiling a hidden surprise such as a rare red ink autograph, a limited edition small unique card, a wooden counterpart, or an original card. Typically, one rip card was included in each case. In 2014, the concept of Double Rip Cards was introduced, offering even more excitement and possibilities.

Topps has a long history of including mini cards with autographs or game-used minis in their retro-tobacco themed sets. This tradition continued with Topps Allen and Ginter, which featured both autographs and game-used memorabilia. Additionally, original A and G cards were included in packs, framed similarly to the relic and autographed cards. Allen and Ginter is also recognized for their box topper insert sets of slightly oversized cards, along with low serial number autographs and game-used cards.
