Basic Features

There were two series in this Ultra Sets. Ultra would be using short-printed base set cards for the first time this year. UV-coated action player photographs are displayed on the fronts. A second player photo along with career statistics and player information is displayed on the backs. Subsets were printed in short quantities, but no Cubs were represented.

Card Dimensions

The standard-sized cards are the following dimensions: 2-1/2" by 3-1/2"

Basic Features

Created in a single series by Feer/Skybox, starring the top players from that era. This set was for kids to collect, but it never went over very well. But there are a lot of fun inserts, and unfortunately, no cubs either. On the front was a full-bleed action photo of the player with his name and the team he played for. On the back are a second portrait and career statistics, plus last-year stats. There is a quote from a different player pointing out the player's best quality.

Created in a single series by Fleer/SkyBox, starring the top players from that era and the rising stars of tomorrow. On the front was a full-bleed action photo of the player with his name, uniform number, and the team he played for. On the backs are a second portrait and detailed career statistics for one category, broken down by year. All in all, obtaining the classic set was interesting and educational.
